Specimens from Spitsbergen (Hornsund) had subsequently been described as a new species – Isotomina gracilis – by Stach (1962). These specimens are Folsomia, and Potapov & Babenko (2000) renamed Stach’s species to Folsomia janstachi because the combination Folsomia gracilis was already occupied by Latzel (1922) (Folsomia quadrioculata gracilis Latzel, 1922, from Austrian alps). These authors did not check Greenlandic specimens, but suggested that coeruleogrisea might be a senior synonym of alpha which was described from Alaska and also present in NE Siberia.
